New Look Of Our Master Bathroom

I'm grateful for the new look of our master bathroom. Our amazing realtor, Dave Winters, had a professional stager come assist us to prepare our home to sell. She loved the look of our Master Bedroom, but wanted the Master Bath to coordinate if possible. We had this cute purple collection (below) Wade's mom gave us when she updated her bathroom years ago. We're always grateful for hand me downs, but we're now loving this new fresh look of the chocolate brown.

Canvas Painting

I'm grateful for this canvas painting I found at Target to add color in the Master Bedroom. After converting the old preschool room to the Master Bedroom, the west wall was empty for the longest time. It felt wonderful to finally hang our vision board there, but we knew we needed to take that down to neutralize the home once it's on the market to sell. So this cool canvas painting went in it's place. What do you think?

Welcome Mat

I'm grateful for my new welcome mat. I bought it this morning at ShopKo's "lowest prices of the season" sale along with the new bathroom towels, rug, and shower curtain. We're wanting to give our home an updated feel for potential buyers that walk through. I don't shop for new home decor a lot, so it's been fun to pick out some new things lately.

Door Wreath

I'm grateful for my door wreath that I bought at my first experience at Tai Pan last spring using the gift card my little sister gave me. Yay! It makes me want to come home in my front door instead of my back door just so I can be greeted by these pretty red flowers on my wreath.

Planting Flowers

I'm grateful for our morning spent planting flowers. It really brightens up the yard and makes me happy.
It was sweet to watch the kids (and my son's best friend) working hard to prepare the soil, dig in the dirt, and plant 3 dozen colorful spring flowers.
You can see we planted several in the ground in the front yard beneath our new box planter.
Happy Spring!

Blue Eyed Kitty Cat

I'm grateful when I find this pretty blue eyed kitty cat sleeping peacefully in random places like the baby's crib. She just makes me smile. I NEVER thought I'd own a cat, let alone love one as much as we all love Diamond. She just turned one years old, and we think we'll keep her around for a long time. :)

Hugging Cousins

I'm grateful for hugging cousins. Check out Ruthanne's sweet boy SO happy to have a bear bug from my baby girl.  She runs up to him whenever they're together and gives him a big squeeze, which is easy to do since they're so the same size and weight. It's precious.

Bath Tub Toys

I'm grateful for bath tub toys. Lately, they've been keeping the baby entertained even when there's NO water in the tub. She'll ask for "baf" (bath), so I'll put her in the empty tub to play while I get ready for the day. Her favorite thing is to find the rubber ducky, hold it up to me, and shout "Duck! Quack, Quack!" (Just imagine her little 18 month old voice pronouncing those words not quite so clear, yet really cute.)

Sunny Days in the Winter

I'm grateful for sunny days in the winter. I mean really, swim suits and splashing in the water table in the middle of March? I'll take it! It's felt more like Sunny St. George where I grew up rather than than northern Utah where SNOW is usually prevalent this time of year.

Toilet Paper Checker

I'm grateful for my toilet paper checker. She's so gracious to take the time to pull out the WHOLE roll of toilet paper to double check if it's quality material for our personal use.  At least I think that's her intention. ??? ;)

PS) She does this regularly whenever her siblings leave the bathroom door open. Needless to say, THEY get to clean up the toilet paper AND pay me a dime each for forgetting to close the door.  Oh the joy (and mess) of having an 18 month old around!

Toes of Steel

I'm grateful for toes of steel like my son has being crazy enough to run around barefoot in the SNOW! He teaches me to be fearless, but truly, what was he thinking???  We all woke up to fresh fallen snow, and he ran outside all excited to see if the snow was "really cold." Um...I think yes, but kids will be kids, and you need to let them discover things like this on their own. It's a good thing I had my camera close by to snap a memorable photo like this because after less than a minute being barefoot in the snow, he ran inside quicker than I've ever seen him run before.

Of course he asked for hot chocolate once he was inside. hehe

Milk Art

I'm grateful for milk art. Who would have ever thought our little artist here could create such unique designs from a silly broken sippy cup? Wow, I'm impressed. Aren't you? ;)

Kenzie

I'm grateful for Kenzie. This is one 12 year old girl who really cares for my little family, and we feel it everyday. She recently completed all her goals in the Good Works section of the Personal Progress program, and countless hours of those good works were directed towards our family. She spent 9 hours with me the day I had the worst case of the flu I've ever had.  She made us dinner on another occasion. She truly has a heart of GOLD.

A few days ago, when I was really struggling emotionally with the stress of the move and the pregnancy and everything, I put the baby down for nap and then went to take a nap myself to escape it all. 30 minutes later, my daughter woke me up to let me know Kenzie was at the front door with a plate of cookies.  Still half asleep, I walked into the front room and started crying right away at such a precious sight...this act of love from our sweet young friend.  I gave Kenz a big hug and thanked her sincerely.  After she left, I went back to my room and bawled for a half hour, praying to Heavenly Father, expressing gratitude for ALL the little acts of service I have felt from my neighbors, like Kenzie, the last 7 years being here. I haven't always felt like I belong or that I had a true friend nearby, especially after saying goodbye to 3 of my best friends when they moved from the neighborhood, Kim, Darcy, and Kathy.  But it's been a wonderful place to call home for this time of our lives, and I'll miss it when we move in the next few months.

Modest is the Hottest

I'm grateful for the phrase, "Modest is the hottest."  It's such a blessing to have a standard to try to live by from our church leaders. As you can see, we're still trying to work on teaching our children to be modest. You're lucky she's at least wearing overalls! Often, she runs around in just a diaper. ;) But seriously, I feel modesty is so important, and I'm grateful for the young women and women in my life who dress modest.

I'm grateful for random items found in the dishwasher. ;) Diamond is such a crazy cat! She jumps up there whenever it's open so she can get a closer peek to any food on the counter.

Attack of the Kitty?

I'm grateful for this morning ritual of "attack of the kitty." Wait, or is the kitty being attacked? I'm confused. Continuing from our theme from yesterday where the baby is in a torture mood, let's assume she's really the bad guy, and the kitty is innocent. haha Either way, it makes me laugh when Diamond runs and hides from our funny 18 month old. She's harmless, really...but somebody needs to convince our cat of that fact!

Poor Tad

I'm grateful for poor Tad (our LeapFrog toy) because he sure puts up with a heck of a beating from this baby girl. She sits on him and wrestles him every chance she gets.

It's pretty funny actually.  Fortunately, I don't think he really cares.

I'm grateful for scooters for my kids because it's just another way to encourage them to be active. And thank goodness we've had warmer days than usual this winter because we've been using our scooters a TON and loving it. :)

When Our Walks Start Like This...

I'm grateful when our walks start like this with the baby diving head first into the basket before I even have a chance to put her in her seat properly.  It saves me time, gets us moving faster, and makes me laugh. lol

Family Scriptures Stories

I'm grateful for Family Scripture Stories every morning. It's the best part of my day. I read one part of the  illustrated Book of Mormon in English and then Wade reads the same part in French. We've been incorporating both languages more and more since the beginning of the school year, and the kids are really developing their French vocabulary well from hearing the French words daily. It's neat to see their little minds expand.

Crazy Faces

I'm grateful for crazy faces we make just to be silly. This one was extra fun because my daughter and I both stuck out our tongues even though neither of us knew what the other was planning to do. I think she learned to be crazy from her daddy...or me...or both...I'm not quite sure. ;)

Basketball Hoop

I'm grateful for this basketball hoop that even our youngest one enjoys. Remember big brother's star shots and star look from this post?  haha What a great basketball hoop. Grandpa and Grandma Reed, you really picked a winner with this birthday present years ago. They love this thing!

Obsession with the Merry Go Round

I'm grateful for this little girl's new obsession with the Merry Go Round because it makes me laugh. When we attended a birthday at Jungle Jim's a month ago, she discovered how much she liked riding around and around on those cheesy, colorful fake horses. I mean, she became GIDDY over this ride, my friends.
Whenever we tried to choose a new ride or game for the older kids, she would escape from me as fast as she could and run back over to the Merry Go Round. Then when we were at Hogle Zoo last week, she saw the Merry Go Round there, and went crazy with excitement. It really is an obsession, even for an 18 month old. So funny!

The Joy of Womanhood

I'm grateful for "The Joy of Womanhood" by Margaret D. Nadauld and other inspiring articles I discovered while preparing to teach the young women in my ward this morning about our divine roles.  I especially liked when Sister Nadauld reminds us, "Where much is given, much is required. Our Heavenly Father asks His daughters to walk in virtue, to live in righteousness so that we can fulfill our life’s mission and His purposes. He wants us to be successful, and He will help us as we seek His help."

I believe that. I really do believe that God WANTS to us to be happy and is SO willing to help us if we simply pray for comfort and guidance. There is a lot about being a woman to rejoice about. I'm thankful for the daily reminders including articles like this, so if I'm ornery during that "time of the month" or experiencing pregnancy cramps and pains, I can change my attitude and just be grateful to be a woman.

Maximize Your Marriage Date Night

I'm grateful for our date night with our Maximize Your Marriage Coaching Pod tonight. We LOVE being a part of this group of couples who are consciously doing all they can to strengthen their marriage. And to connect with them at Olive Garden, one of our favorite restaurants in town, was an absolute treat. With weekly group calls and monthly one-on-one coaching calls with Dino and Shannon Watt, our marriage has never been better! We are so thankful for that because we've had some rocky times in our marriage in the past with my depression and other financial stress. What a blessing we still have 4 more months of marriage coaching so we can practice the selflessness and forgiveness that EVERY marriage requires. Afterall, we're in this for the long haul, right?

Madeline's Steakhouse

I'm grateful for our Mastermind Lunch at Madeline's Steakhouse on Tuesday.  We were ALL blown away at how good the food tasted for the low prices they offered. Since I work for Gerald to help take care of the Prosperity Tribe members, it was my responsibility to select an ideal location for our monthly Mastermind Lunches.  After finding out details of over 20 local restaurants with the help of my amazing event planner and friend, Michelle Holland, I narrowed it down to 3 of my favorites, and asked our Tribal Council for their input. The vote was unanimous...Madeline's Steakhouse was the choice! I even promised Harmony their seafood and more healthful entrees would not disappoint. :)

When I called Adam Wheaton, the owner of Madeline's, I was so impressed with his warm personality and the personal touch he wanted to provide to our group of entrepreneurs.  He came into the restaurant that Tuesday morning just to meet us even though he has a little 2 week old baby at home. Gerald invited him to share his story and success tips as an entrepreneur himself.  What an impressive guy Adam is! We are all excited to return next month and grateful we found a locally owned restaurant with the same values we share...and amazing turkey avocado sandwiches. ;)
